The Bottle Rockets are maybe
best described as a guitar surf-rock band,
or to put it another way
they are a great party band.

Cycle & Ski shop mechanic Greg, and his fellow Bottle Rocket band
mates,
will entertain us and keep
the adrenaline flowing throughout the event.
Draw prize: A
complete set of cross country skis, boots, bindings, and poles

Also: Prizes to all podium
finishers.
Last
year the Bourkevale Cyclocross Event was held for the first time and
from all reports it was a good, if relatively modest, affair, with a
solid course and some good competition at all local levels.
This year we'd like to add to the event by extending an invitation
to anyone interested in trying out cyclocross, so we're purchasing
special race day insurance in order to open the race up to non-MCA
members.
Virtually any type of bike
is permitted to participate in this event, whether it's a cyclocross
specific bike, a mountain bike (rigid, hardtail, dualie, single
speed, multispeed, whatever), or even a road bike outfitted with
some beefy tires) and all levers of participants, both inexperienced
newbies and seasoned veterans, are invited.
We're hiring a great band to play during and/or after the event, and much the same
as last year we're serving an informal meal of chili and hot drinks
in the community centre following the races.
We're getting excited, and
we hope you are too. Good luck at all of the other great
cyclocross races this season, and see you on November 9th!
